OKYEAME KWAME—GUEST POET AT THE ALEWA SHOW

The much talked about, widely publicized and anticipated Spoken Word Poetry event in the country at the moment, “ALEWA” is here again and this time with an all new line up including the best rapper alive, Okyeame Kwame, the doctor who prescribes a dose of rhythmical rap at the microphone to thrall millions of fans. With profound specialty in hip-life, hip-hop and nonetheless poetry which majorly underlines his musical talent, RAP DOCTOR OKYEAME KWAME is the star most would come out to see at the “ALEWA RELOADED”, and People Of Equal Thoughts and Spirit (P.O.E.T.S.) are more than proud to have him as the next guest poet.

Okyeame Kwame has become a household name, actually one of the most admired and sought-after musicians of all time in and around Ghana. His recent album, M'awensem (My poetry)-2008, with hit singles like Odo nkyen, Woso, Medo mmaa, Kwame Ghana; is written in stanza form and upon literal analysis; the use of literary devices such as metaphor, rhyme, rhythm, meter, imagery, simile, alliteration, et cetera; accentuates his poetic touch.

Kwame has featured on so many albums of talented musicians and won several awards including artiste of the year 2009 and quite recently the best male video award at the Vodafone-4 Syte Music Video Awards 2011; and having achieved almost half of his dream as an artiste, he pledges to dedicate his interest and time on the other half which involves pushing poetry to the acme it deserves to reach in Ghana.
